Who is the provision for?
The provision is for young people aged 8-14 who have struggled in a school environment and for those who are experiencing anxiety related to school attendance. This may be related to undiagnosed or diagnosed Autism, ADHD, PDA etc.
What makes your approach different?
Our safety first approach with a focus on co‑regulation and relationship before academics makes us different to many other provisions. Our desire for student autonomy and the sensory‑friendly environment we provide also help us to provide a different sort of education.
Do students need a diagnosis?
No diagnosis needed. We understand how long the pathway to diagnosis takes and believe that early support is important so we welcome students with suspected neurodivergence alongside those already diagnosied.
Is the woodland safe?
Yes. The woodland has clear boundaries. Staff are highly trained and safeguarding is a priority. We have in place all appropriate risk assessments.
Will you close in bad weather?
In the majority of bad weather conditions, we will remain on the outdoor site as usual. In the case of high winds, however, we will adhere to our risk assessments and provide an indoor option for health and safety reasons.
How do you handle meltdowns or shutdowns?
We will provide co‑regulation from attuned adults and quiet spaces. We will allow space for sensory recovery.
How do you cover academics?
We use a continuous provision model involving interest and project‑based learning. We also hope to offer functional skills, with literacy and numeracy woven into other activities.
What qualifications do staff have?
Staff are qualified teachers and have SEN experience either professionally or personally. Staff are trained Wild Passport practitioners and are trauma-informed.
How do you communicate with parents?
Class Dojo will be used to communicate with parents on a daily basis.

Do I have to talk?
No. You can just be.
Adults will meet you where you are.
Can I bring my comfort item?
Yes.
What if I get overwhelmed?
Quiet spaces will be available, and all adults understand and will be supportive.
Will there be other kids like me?
Yes!
